After 2 years of searching for my dream job, finally I was able to secure one... I wrote this poem as soon as my employer said he will support me however he can. This small glimmer of hope is what I came here for..
Three restless years of papers, waits and fear
Of borders shifting like uncertain sand
Now steady ground beneath my feet appear
A contract sealed by hard-earned, calloused hand
The title reads “Site Manager” in London’s haze
Hard hat and steel where dreams refused to die
Yet echoes of old worry still remain
A quiet storm that lingers in the sky
Relief floods warm like summer after rain
While unknown futures whisper what comes next
Gratitude and doubt walk side by side again
In this new chapter, brave but still complex
So here I stand on firmer London soil
With tools and purpose, heart both light and sore
The road ahead is long, but mine to toil
From drifting guest to builder evermore
